Guided Bird Tours
Our guided bird tours are designed for all levels of birders and whether you are a beginner or an experienced birder, we will always endeavor to meet your needs. The tours, which take place on an almost daily basis, run throughout the year and will never exceed more than six guests per guide.
At the start of the day, the tour leader will discuss the site being visited, the route to be taken and the birds that are likely to be seen. Sensible footwear, such as walking boots are advisable and it can also be advisable to carry some form of waterproof clothing.
The tour takes place at a comfortable pace and will normally cover 3 - 4 miles during the trip. The tour leader will endevour to identify all birds seen, using their calls, their plumage and their behavior. In particular, the tour leader will provide information to help separate closely related species.
The whole day is devoted to watching birds and lunch is usually eaten between 12.30 and 13.00. Each guest brings their own packed lunch but we can provide a packed lunch by prior arrangement. Lunch will be taken in either a hide, if the weather is poor or will be at a suitable view point to allow everyone to continue birding.
During July and August we run a number of evening walks to view Nightjar (Chobham Common) and to listen to Nightingales sing (Bookham Common). These walks start at 19.30 and finish around 22.30.
Several weekend trips are planned and these include one nights B&B. In September we will visit Dorset and in October we will visit Norfolk.
